I take great care in capturing them using only professional materials from the finest pencils, namely Faber-Castell Polychromos, Caran D'ache Luminance and Caran D'ache Pablo Pencils. My portraits are all done on white 100% cotton hot pressed paper. All pencils and materials are 100% archival and lightfast so your portrait will last a lifetime!
There are 3 steps to commission your custom precious pet portrait. The 3 steps are picking a size, choosing reference photo(s), then securing your booking.
Commission Your Portrait
First, you’ll need to decide on the size portrait you’d like. Consider whether you’d want a classic rectangular portrait, or a square portrait. Be mindful of where your portrait will be displayed in your home, whether that be on a side table, or pride of place on the wall, the scale of the portrait is very important.
I will always confirm the details of your commissioned pet portrait before I start it. This is the time to change your mind on the size of the portrait if you choose to do so. Any change after the portrait is started will result in an additional fee.

Choose a Reference Photo
Next, you will need a really good quality head or head and upper-body photograph of your pet. It is important to capture the character of your pet through their expression. Natural lighting, by a window or outdoors with no direct sunlight, would be best. Please be sure to capture your pet's eyes clearly. The better the photograph, the better the portrait!
Please send only original images, no screenshots or cropped or resized photos.
I use one main photo to draw from, but if you want to send me a selection, I can get a better sense of the pet’s character if you so choose. See below for a few examples!

Secure Your commission Booking!
After choosing a size and reference photo(s), please CLICK on the CONTACT ME / COMMISSIONS button below to email me. This is how we will communicate throughout the process.
Once I receive your email, you’ll receive an email from me. It is at this time you will send your chosen reference photo (if you’re having trouble choosing between a few photos, send them all! I’ll happily help your decision by giving my recommendations).
To get your commission order onto my commissions cue, I require a 50% NON - REFUNDABLE deposit. The remaining 50% is due upon completion before shipping. Payments accepted is PayPal or Venmo or Zelle.
Once I’m about to start on your piece, I’ll send you an email to touch base. I’ll make an initial pencil sketch of the pet(s) and, if that all looks good, I’ll start filling it in!
I like to email a photo of the eyes. These are done first. The eyes are the soul of all creatures and I want you to be able to "see your pets eyes". I may possibly send another photo sometime during the process, if you want a "sneak peek".
It can take anywhere from 3 weeks to 2 months to complete from order to shipping.
Once the piece is complete, I’ll send you another photo for you to review.
All artwork comes unmatted and unframed. They are shipped with white mount board to keep them protected in transit.
At this time, I will require final balance payment before wrapping up your portrait and shipping it your way via USPS Priority Mail or UPS.
